DESCRIPTION:THEME – MUTUALITY \nLew Aaron famously referred to relational psychotherapy as having ‘mutuality with asymmetry’. Our conference this year explores the notion of mutuality. What do we mean by it and how does it affect our work? \nThe conference revolves around a panel discussion between the TA practitioners mentioned above and will include facilitated discussion groups and plenty of time for questions\, thoughts\, ideas\, and considerations. \nDeepak Dhananjaya\, is a CTA in Psychotherapy (CTA – P)\, PTSTA (Psychotherapy)\, Agile-Leadership-Organisation Coach\, and has ACC- ICF credentials. He has a private clinical\, teaching\, and supervision practice in psychotherapy. Heis the co-founder of AgileSattva Consulting that focuses on organisation development and transformation organisation Bangalore\, India. He is also founder of Prabhava Institute of Inclusive Mental Health (PIIMH) that focuses on inclusivity in mental health education and services. He is an engineer and has earned Masters in Sexuality and Sexual counselling. He works with marginalised communities\, families\, and individual client settings. His work is deeply informed by transactional analysis\, socio- cultural-political frame of reference which reflects in his writings and practice. He believes in compassionate activism. \nKaren Minikin is a psychotherapist\, supervisor\, and trainer (TSTA (P)) currently working in West Somerset and Devon. She draws on history with personal life experience and uses this in relating to help integrate the psychodynamics of politics and power within a relational framework. She has written on these themes in chapters to books and articles and is expecting her book: Radical-Relational Perspectives in TA Psychotherapy to be available from the 21st of September 2023. \n  \nKatherine Murphy\, a New Zealand-born Londoner\, is a psychotherapist\, supervisor and educator working in independent practice in West London. With roots in humanistic philosophy and an Integrative understanding of TA psychotherapy\, she has embraced the relational turn in psychoanalysis and woven this into her Integrative psychosocial metapsychology. She has always believed that we are interconnected\, influenced\, and influencing from the personal to the interpersonal to the planetary. \nCarole Shadbolt\, MSc\, (Psych).CTA TSTA CQSW Dip. App. Soc. Sci. Dip Supervision UKCP Registered Psychotherapist. Maintains an independent clinical and supervisory practice\, has authored several articles\, and is a founder member of IARTA. \n  \nCharlotte Sills is a psychotherapist and supervisor in private practice\, Visiting Professor at Middlesex University\, and Professor of Coaching at Ashridge Business School. Amongst her many publications are Transactional Analysis – A Relational Perspective with Helena Hargaden (Routledge 2002) for which they were awarded the Eric Berne Memorial Award in 2007. In the same year\, Charlotte was awarded the EATA gold medal for services to the TA community. \n  \nThe conference is open to all qualifications and will focus mainly on the psychotherapy field\, although other fields may find the discussion of interest.  \nThe cost of the workshop is £50 members/£100.00 non-members. \nA recording of the event will be made which you can purchase by signing onto the event\, but please note\, we are only able to issue CPD certificates for those who attend the actual workshop. \nTicket sales will close on Saturday 9th December at 12 noon. \nThe Zoom Link will be sent out to all participants the day before the event. \n

SUMMARY:What happens when autism is named in the family? - Tess Elliott (Part 3)
DESCRIPTION:The third and final part of this CPD series.\n \nThis course is designed to offer the opportunity to explore the impact on life when a family member identifies/is identified as autistic. We will open a space for dialogue and exploration to consider the unique impact on each of our personal relationships and lives. We will look at issues of grief\, loss\, and the spectre of othering. Using the Relational TA principles and practice I will present a new three-stage developmental model with which to understand autism and its personal meanings: \n• a dawning awareness\n• hiding and shame\n• living in the world\n \nThese workshops are open to practitioners\, either in a personal or closely connected professional capacity. By drawing from personal and clinical examples we will bring life to this model. \n\n\n\nTess Elliott MSc (Psych) TSTA (P)\, CTA\, Cert Ed. UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and Supervisor. \n\n\n\n Tess is an independent Psychotherapist and Supervisor in private practice. Before training as a psychotherapist\, she worked for over 30 years with children\, parents\, and families. Her professional life both as a psychotherapist and as an educator has always held a particular sensitivity around inclusion\, diversity\, and the spectre of othering. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nParticipants are asked to commit to all three sessions and to have their cameras on.
