Offering Support in a War Zone Stabilisation and Resourcing
When the stress is not ‘post-traumatic’ but current and ongoing, the usual approaches to trauma therapy are not appropriate. In this brief workshop we will offer some models to help participants and their clients understand what might be going on for them in overwhelmingly stressful situations and Andri will introduce some simple but effective exercises to help people stay stable enough under stress to carry on as resourcefully as possible.
The theory will be ‘light touch’ as we want to keep it simple and practical. As Andri says, we want you ‘to be able to turn this around and make use of it now without having to think too hard about new language and new concepts’.
