Radical Psychiatry is a lost tradition in TA. Although recognised as one of the early “Schools” of TA, it is rarely taught and little understood. In this Webinar, I will present a brief history of radical psychiatry, and outline its main theory and practice, based on an analysis of power and oppression. I will also make connections between radical psychiatry and other aspects of TA.

Background reading: TA and politics, Tudor, K. (Ed.). (2020). Claude Steiner, emotional activist: The life and work of Claude Michel Steiner. Routledge.

Keith Tudor, PhD, CQSW, Dip. Psychotherapy, TSTA(P) is professor of psychotherapy at Auckland University of Technology, Aotearoa New Zealand. He was a founder member of the IARTA and contributed to the formulation of its relational principles. He has a small private practice in West Auckland as a health care provider and transactional analyst, and an international wider practice online offering psychotherapy, supervision, and training.

This workshop is open to all qualifications and fields.
