Rites of Passage: Journeying into Relational TA – Giovanni Pace
Event Overview
Rites of passage are universal, archetypal events integral to every culture, marking essential transitions across the span of human life. Psychotherapy, as a discipline deeply rooted in personal and relational transformation, inherently participates in this archetypal pattern.
In this carefully structured series of three workshops, Giovanni will guide participants through a reflective exploration of these critical life transitions. The first workshop will provide a foundational overview of rites of passage, including the significance of successfully navigating these transitions and the potential consequences when these passages are incomplete or unsuccessful.
The initial session will apply this archetypal framework specifically to the emergence of the psychotherapist’s professional identity. Throughout this series, the role and responsibilities of Psychotherapy Institutions will be critically examined and continuously held in consideration.
The second workshop will delve into the developmental process of becoming relational, exploring the deepening relational capacities and sensitivities essential to therapeutic practice.
The third and final session will focus on the crucial role of supervisors, psychotherapy’s elders, examining the constellation of influences shaping your present and future.
Participants will be invited into reflective dialogues to track their own personal and professional journeys toward, into, and through psychotherapy. These workshops aim to illuminate and integrate key transitional experiences, linking past rites of passage with current and anticipated future transformations, ultimately fostering greater clarity and connection to the participant’s own evolving physis. Reflective prompts for participants to consider for each workshop:
- Through what inner call or outer unfolding, were you drawn into the path of psychotherapy?
- At what moment did your therapeutic presence deepen into a relational approach, and what awakened it?
- What quiet wisdom is stirring within you today, and in what direction is your growth evolving?
This series is both an invitation and a threshold: a space to witness your own becoming, to honour the initiations you have crossed, and to sense those yet to come. As you reflect on your unfolding path, may you recognize the threads of meaning that have shaped your vocation—and may this event mark the liminality of your work.
This webinar will focus on the psychotherapy field, although other fields may find the discussion of interest. All three sessions must be attended £72.00 members/£144.00 non-members.
